Today,

Period 1, NO CLASS :( We took the NWEA's.

Homework: Continue working on p.48-49 #1-10, 19, 28-42 (E)

Period 3 & 4, We reviewed our homework and worked on a challenging worksheet on Absolute Value.

Period 5, we review our homework and puzzling NWEA questions.

Today,

Period 1, in class took a quiz on integers. Once students finished they define Rational Number.

Homework: TRY p.48-49 #1-10, 19, 28-42(E)

Period 3 & 4, in class we review absolute value and practice as a class.

Homework: p.6 #1-3, 17-27(O),  30-36(E)

Period 5, in class we practice on whiteboards adding and subtracting integers.

Homework: p.18 #24-28(E)

Today,

Period 1, We review Multiplying & Dividing Integers in a station review activity.

Homework: p.26-27 #24-28 (E) and p. 32-33 #24-46 (E)

Period 3 &4, We began learning about Absolute Value.

Homework: p. 6 #4-11 and p. 7 #46 - 50

Period 5, We learned how to subtract integers! Your homework is still on adding integers though.

Today,

Period 1, We reviewed adding and subtracting integers with a fun "passport" to learning activity.

Homework: In your TEXTbook, p.18-19 # 24-48 (E) & p.26-27 #26-48(E)

Period 3 & 4, We reviewed the properties of operations (associative & commutative properties) as well as the identity properties. We took notes in our ISN on these concepts.

Homework: None :(

Period 5, We started learning about integers. We took notes & practice how to add integers.

Homework: In your ISN, complete pg 11.

Today,

Period 1: The next two weeks will be reviewing and preparing for the assessment over the summer work skills. We began working from our textbook, Chapter 1 Section 1on Absolute Value. We took some notes however our practice in our journals got cut short but we will finish that tomorrow!

Periods 3 & 4: Today we continued learning more about how we learn best and what our strengths are as learners. We took a Multiple Intelligence Survey and began working on our "Math About Me" Cover pages for our ISN.

HMWK: Complete the Math About Me Cover page. You need 8 math facts written about yourself.

Period 5: We began working from our textbook, Chapter 1 Section 1on Absolute Value today. We took some notes and used our practice journals. We completed pg. 3 in our Journals.

It's Friday!

Our first week of school is winding down and it was jammed packed! Our math notebooks are almost completely set-up. Next week be prepared to dive into some fun math skills & concepts.

TODAY, we put in pages  5-6 on Learning Styles and Ms. Belanger was in to give the class a multiplication fact quiz! We also got our math textbooks! These are BRAND NEW so please treat them well :)

HOMEWORK, Complete page 5 on how you are going to use your learning styles to have a fabulous year in math class :) (Period 5 also needs to complete page 7 )  ALSO, please cover your textbook! Fabric covers or paper covers. Your book must be covered at all times.

We had a terrific second day of class! I want to thank you all for keeping up with all of the directions given in class today. You all did wonderfully.

Today, we began setting up our ISN (Interactive Student Notebooks). This is where we will keep all of our notes & important concepts we learn. We created an ID page, 4 TOC (Table of Content Pages), 6 WWK (Words Worth Knowing) pages, and we put in our first official pages!  Pages 1-2 on Course Info and Pages 3-4 on ISN Info.

Homework, Review pages 2 & 4 in your ISN & complete pages 1 & 3 tonight. Below are examples of what I am looking for:

Day 1 DONE!

Great work everyone. It was a pleasure meeting everyone, I can tell we are going to have a great year and learn tons of math of course!

TODAY in class: Today we began working on our CoC ( Code of Collaboration). It is crucial that we all know what is expected of us as well as follow our BJHS Code of Ethics. Today's brainstorming with be reviewed tomorrow in class and voted on. I can tell we are going to have a lot of Responsible, Respectful, Compassionate, Fair, Courageous, and Honest students.

HOMEWORK: Tomorrow please bring in a Composition Notebook if you have one. If you do not have one, DO NOT worry! I have some in my room I will happily give you.

Welcome Back!!

What an exciting day! It was a pleasure meeting with my new Advisory Group! I can tell already that we are going to have a lot of fun together as the year goes on. I hope you all enjoyed getting into your locker, reviewing some school procedures, and playing some fun team games!

Tomorrow is a Day 1 Schedule so make sure you are prepared! Be sure to arrive @ 7:42 if you are a walker. Advisory starts sharply @ 7:50 so PLEASE be on time.



DO NOT forget to bring in all of your paperwork that we discussed today in Advisory. Paperwork needs to be turned in by Friday the 5th.
